Wayne bowling teams roll to success

DAYTON — Senior Trevor Yost led Wayne with games of 256 and 225 for a 481 series to help lead the Wayne bowling team to a 2554-2335 victory January 6 against Fairborn.

Junior Sean Martin III rolled games of 249 and 216 (465 series) and junior Patrick Schwartz had games of 214 and 244 (458 series) to contribute to the victory.

The junior varsity team saw freshman Cody Corde roll games of 130 and 124 to post a new personal best.

The varsity girls team posted a 2182-2117 victory over Fairborn with senior Brittany Hawley posting scores of 212 and 198 (410 series) and sophomore Ryleigh Crouse posting a series of 395.

The junior varsity girls also posted a win 1527-1394 over Fairborn. Freshman Audrie Goffinet posted a high game and high series personal best with scores of 136 and 213. Freshman Morgan Atkinson also posted a personal best series of 334.

On December 21 the JV Boys placed 7th in the Thunderbolt JV Tournament held at Thunderbowl Lanes in Englewood. Sophomore Spencer Marksberry was named to the All-Tournament Team with games of 205 and 221 for a 426 series.

The JV Girls won their first trophy in school history by placing 2nd in the tournament. Freshman Morgan Atkinson was named to the All-Tournament Team with games of 151 and 188 for a 339 series.

On Dec. 10 the Varsity Boys walloped West Carrollton 2514-1977. Junior Sean Martin led the way with games of 258 and 210 (468 series) followed by senior Brandon Beck with scores of 220 and 230 (450 series) and junior Patrick Schwartz with games of 222 and 193 (415 series).

The JV Boys also won big 1712-560 with junior Nathaniel Payton scoring games of 147 and 198 for a 345 series followed by freshman Cameran Bailey with a 311 series.

The Varsity Girls also beat West Carrollton 2007-1863 led by sophomore Ryleigh Crouse with games of 171 and 240 for a 411 series followed by Shelbi Craft with a 361 series.

The JV Girls lost 1203-1301 with Morgan Atkinson posting a two game total of 234 followed by Mackenzie Nangle with a 213 series.

Against Beavercreek High School the Varsity Boys suffered a loss 2550-2623. Patrick Schwartz led the Warriors with games of 237 and 218 for a 455 series. Next was senior Trevor Yost with games of 206 and 234 for a 440 series and Sean Martin III with a 417 series and Brandon Beck with a 383 series.

The JV Boys also lost 1529-1912. Nathaniel Payton was top scorer with games of 167 and 194 for a 361 series followed by Spencer Marksberry with a 271 series.

The Varsity Girls lost 1976-2306 led by Shelbi Craft with games of 157 and 213 for a 370 series. Sierra Nangle posted games of 203 and 148 for a 351 series.

The JV Girls also lost 1190-1912 led by Morgan Atkinson with a 302 series and Mackenzie Nangle with 258 series.
