VANDALIA — The Wayne Track and Field teams sent a limited number of athletes to Vandalia on Saturday to compete in the Butler Invitational. The Wayne boys placed fifth overall with 60 points and the Lady Warriors were eighth in limited competition with 29.5 points.
Scoring points for the Warriors were Terrrion McGhee who won the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 42.68 seconds. Teammate James Page also placed fifth in 44.42 seconds.
Justin Harris placed third in the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 16.22 seconds and McGhee was fourth in 16.47 seconds.
Wayne’s Caleb Mitchell was fourth in the 200 meter dash in 24.11 seconds. Teammate Joseph Collins placed sixth in 24.36 seconds. Collins was also fifth in the 400 meter dash in 54.74 seconds.
In pole vault, Kristin Liljuson placed fourth with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches. Devin Bean was eighth in the discus throw with a throw of 110-02..
Wayne also placed in four relay events. Names were not available in the official results.
The Warriors won the 4×200 meter relay in a time of 1:33.37; were third in the 4×100 meter relay in 45.28 seconds; and eighth in the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 10:24.43.
The Lady Warriors were paced by Taylor Robertson who won the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 15.73 seconds.
In field events, Graysen Simmons was second in the pole vault with a height of 11-06 and tied for eighth in the high jump at a height of 4-08. Makayla Portis was eighth in the long jump at 14-02.75.
Lady Warrior relay teams placed third in the 4×100 meter relay in 52.40 seconds and fifth in the 4×200 meter relay in 1:55.21.
