Dayton Diamonds to hold tryouts

DAYTON — The Dayton Diamonds Women’s Professional football team will be holding tryouts, for the 2017 season, on Saturday August 20th from Noon to 3 pm. There is no fee to tryout. The tryouts will be held at Triangle Park located at the corner of Riverside Dr. and Ridge Ave. in Dayton. Please wear appropriate attire such as workout clothing.

The Diamonds are members of the Women’s Football Alliance and will play their games starting in April and running through to June. This is tackle football and travel will be required. Frosty Brown Fall Batting Leagues to hold registration

TROY — The Frosty Brown Fall Batting Leagues will begin taking registration for 2016.

Choose from 3 leagues. The Fall Batting League {for players 13 to 19}: Compete in nine inning games utilizing pitching machines featuring three to four games per week (Monday through Friday).

The Live Pitching League [for players 13-19]. Play 7 inning games using modified High School Rules and licensed umpires with three games each weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

The 9-12 Year Old Junior Fall Batting League: Games on Saturday and Monday, two 7 inning games each week with American Legion players serving as base coaches to help instruct both runners and defensive players. Short instructional tips given before each game.

Soccer Referee Information

VANDALIA — Looking to earn some money for the summer and fall? Soccer referee may be the job for you! All classes are mandatory and will be held at the Vandalia Senior Center. No fee is required to obtain certification. A referee shirt, shorts and socks are provided. If you would like further information please contact Dave Posma at 657-3838.
