Wayne soccer to hold parents meeting

HUBER HEIGHTS — Wayne soccer parents meeting on Sunday May 15, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Studebaker Middle School Soccer Fields. It is important that someone from each and every family attend that plans on playing soccer this fall. A schedule will be handed out for the summer activities beginning in July. Brick City to play Challenger game

HUBER HEIGHTS — Players from the Brick City Blast will play in a Challenger Game on Saturday June 4 at 9:30 am. Blast players will be buddied up with 13 players on their roster and will be playing on Diamond 1, 701 West Yellow Springs Fairfield Road in Fairborn. Matt Light Football Camp

GREENVILLE – The 23rd annual Matt Light Football Camp will be held June 13-14 at Greenville’s Harmon Field. The camp is free to attend but has a limit of 200 campers. The purpose of the camp is to provide participants the opportunity to learn and improve their football skills. The camp is designed to meet each camper’s needs at a particular position. Under the guidance of several high school coaches, the campers will learn about Pride, Discipline, Attitude, and Team Play. Wood Bat Tournament set

STRUTHERS — The 2016 Bob Cene All Ohio Challenge Wood Bat Tournament for teams ages 16 thru 18 will be held June 23 thru June 26 at the Bob Cene Basaeball Complex in Struthers, Ohio. Contact Ken Quinn (330) 719-0581 for information.

Nominees sought for 2017 Northmont Baseball Hall of Fame

CLAYTON — Northmont Baseball is seeking nominations for the NHS Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF) for 2017. This award is to honor people and teams who have made outstanding contributions in NHS Baseball. Qualifications are that the nominee be a former player, coach or associate of NHS baseball. Players must be out of high school for a minimum of 10 years and coaches must have coached in the Northmont system at least 10 years. If you wish to submit a nominee, please contact Bonnie or Daryl Evans at 836-6249 or via e-mail at or visit the Northmont Baseball website to obtain a nomination form. Cutoff for the 2017 nominations is June 1, 2016. Please note, the HOF winners for 2016 have been selected and will be announced in the Englewood Independent prior to the presentations at the First Pitch Banquet in March. The committee maintains previously submitted nominees which will be considered each subsequent year, along with new nominations received.
