COLUMBUS — The Wayne girls bowling team placed 11th overall in the Ohio High School Invitational State Kick-Off Tournament on Friday with team totals of 787, 822 and 955 for a 2564 and a two baker game total of 337 for a 2901 qualfying 10th into the finals.
Shelbi Craft, a junior, led Wayne with a 578 series (153, 177, 248). Also representing Wayne were Ryleigh Crouse, Skylar Edwards, Audrie Goffinet, Brittany Hawley, Ashley Lowe and Sierra Nangle.
On Nov. 28, the varsity girls travelled to the Ravenna Ravens Invitational in Kent and placed third after a long hard battle in the brackets. Wayne had games of 830, 972 and 778 for a 2580 and a five baker game total of 888 for a 3468 to qualify second. Shelbi Craft led the way with games of 225, 200 and 207 for a 632, taking second place in the high series.
Also representing Wayne were Crouse, Edwards, Goffinet, Hawley, Lowe and Nangle.
On Dec. 2, Wayne hosted Sidney at Poelking Marian Lanes with a 2290-2068 victory. Wayne had a two game total of 1966 and a baker game total of 324 to earn their first win of the season.
Hawley led the squad with a 446 series (189, 257) while Crouse and Craft recorded a 410 and a 403 series, respectively.
Also representing Wayne were Morgan Colton, Edwards, Lowe and Nangle.
The JV squad also captured their first victory, downing Sidney 1343-1321 with a two game total of 1090 and a baker games total of 253. Mackenzie Nangle, a freshman, paced the team with a two game total of 271 while Morgan had a 264 series. Also representing the JV squad were Morgan Atkinson, Candace Croft, Audrie Goffinet, Amanda Jackson, Tiipwadee Kitirak and Jordan Zimmerick.
