On Saturday, Oct. 24, the HHYFC Bantam White Warriors (8-0) played the Bantam Red Warriors (6-3) in the second round of the GCYC football tournament and won 33-19.
Player of the week Dalton Flagg followed strong blocking from Kash Reeser, Jordan Oppy, Noah Carl, Aaden Curtis, Colton Brown, Keemari Fleming, Kaden Post, Camden Dunaway, Ethan Davis and Jeremiah Bettison to a career high 332 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
The Red Warriors were led on offense by Peyton Tengesdahl who gave the White Warriors all they could handle as he rushed for over 200 yards and three touchdowns behind strong blocks from Braxton Kee, Alex Corbin, Elijah Nedd, Domasi Taylor and Paxton Tengesdahl.
On Saturday, Oct. 30, the Bantam White Warriors defeated the 8-2 Centerville Black Elks 20-18 in the semifinals of the GCYC season end tournament in Beavercreek.
The Warriors scored first as Flagg followed Reeser and Carl around the left side for a 7-yard touchdown. Curtis converted the extra point play to give the Warriors a 7-0 lead.
The Warriors next score was set up by a reverse that Curtis took 54 yards down to the 2-yard line and on the next play Reeser followed Oppy and Brown up the the middle for the Warriors second touchdown. Extra point was no good.
Centerville scored before the half ended, giving the Warriors a 13-6 halftime lead.
The Warriors scored again in the second half on a Flagg 35-yard touchdown run. Flagg scored the extra point behind nice blocks from Bettison, Kevin Turner and Davis.
The Warriors gave up a couple late scores but held on to beat the Elks 20-18. With the win the Bantam white Warriors moved on to the Super Bowl the following Saturday against the Centerville White Elks.
