The beginning of the 2017 – 2018 school year is quickly approaching. The first day of the 2017 – 2018 school year for students is Monday, August 14. The schedule for kindergarten is somewhat different with individual student assessments scheduled for August 14 – 16 and the first full day of kindergarten scheduled for Thursday, August 17.
If you are new to the Huber Heights City School district, be sure to register your child as soon as possible and before school begins. Important staffing decisions are made based on the number of students in a particular grade level. If your child is in elementary school, kindergarten through grade six, and you are unsure which school your child should attend, please go to our website, www.huberheightscityschools.org and click on “Departments”. Then click on “Transportation”. On the right hand side of the page, click on “Elementary Street Roster”. This opens a document that lists all the streets in our school district as well as the elementary school children living on each street should attend.
The district’s website also contains the 2017 – 2018 school district calendar and information about school fees, registration, and school supplies. Registration hours may vary by building so please contact the individual school for specific registration times. Basic school supply lists can be found at various retailers throughout Huber Heights. Individual teachers may require additional supplies. These teacher specific supply lists will be handed out to students during the first week of school.
Remember, every school day counts for academic success so make sure your child is registered and ready to begin school on August 14. We look forward to the 2017 – 2018 school year and to the many new experiences the school year brings. If you have specific questions, please contact your child’s building, the Administrative Offices, or visit our website, www.huberheightscityschools.org.
