Last week, I introduced our community to the new Director of Special Services, Ms. Beth Zugelder. This week, I would like to familiarize our community with two new Wayne High School administrators, Principal Rick Newsock and Assistant Principal Timothy Vaughn.
Mr. Newsock comes to Huber Heights from Greenon Junior/Senor High School where he has served as principal since 2011. He received a degree in health and physical education from Baldwin-Wallace College and earned both a Master’s Degree and principal’s license from the University of Dayton. In addition to his work as a principal at Greenon, Mr. Newsock has experience as an assistant principal, science teacher, OWE (Occupational Work Experience) coordinator, and health and physical education teacher. He has also been a football, tennis, basketball, and track coach.
Mr. Vaughn comes to Huber Heights from Thurgood Marshall High School where the past two years he has been an assistant principal. He is a graduate of Kentucky State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English education with a minor in philosophy. Mr. Vaughn received his Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton and is currently working on his Ph.D. at Miami University. In addition to his work as an assistant principal, Mr. Vaughn has also served as a high school English teacher and a teaching assistant at Miami University.
Both Mr. Newsock and Mr. Vaughn bring a variety of experiences to our school district and are excited to continue their careers at Wayne High School. I know our staff, parents, students, and community members will welcome Mr. Newsock and Mr. Vaughn to Huber Heights and Wayne High School. As always, if you have questions about our schools, please contact me at the Administrative Offices (237-6300) or through e-mail at Susan.Gunnell@huberheightscityschools.org.
Supt. Susan Gunnell can be contacted at 237-6300 or through e-mail at Susan.Gunnell@huberheightscityschools.org.
