Board recognizes educational service personnel

Susan Gunnell - Superintendent, Huber Heights City Schools

At the November Board of Education meeting, the Huber Heights City Schools Board of Education declared November 16, 2016, as National Educational Service Personnel (ESP) Day in recognition of the essential services provided to our students, staff, and school community by these valued employees. Our ESP staff includes our district’s clerical, secretarial, paraprofessional, messengers, maintenance and nutrition services staff, as well as the custodial and warehouse staff and technology department.

In their official resolution, board members commended our ESP staff members for their “professional, friendly, efficient, essential, and hard-working support and assistance to our district’s students, parents, administrators, and teachers.” Our ESP staff work hard to make sure our schools are ready to meet the many diverse educational needs of our students. They make sure our schools run efficiently and are clean and in good working order. These staff members provide students with nutritious and economical school lunches. They assist teachers and students in the classroom and provide support in the technology area. Our ESP staff members help provide all students with the education they need and deserve in an efficiently run and clean school building.

Many times, the work done by our ESP staff members is accomplished behind the scenes. This sometimes makes it difficult to truly appreciate all these individuals do for our schools and our students. On behalf of the Board of Education and myself, I want to thank our ESP staff members for all their hard work. I hope many of our staff, parents, students, and community members will also take the time to say “thank you” to the educational service personnel of the Huber Heights City Schools. As always, if you have questions about our schools, please contact me at the Administrative Offices (237-6300) or through e-mail at
