Thanks to all who made it a great school year

Susan Gunnell - Superintendent, Huber Heights City Schools

As the 2015 – 2016 school year comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to thank the many people that contribute to the success of our school district and our students.

To our staff members, thank you for the hard work you do each and every day for our students. Despite the diversity of learners entering the doors of our schools, you are always there to make sure each child gets to school safely, learns in clean and efficiently run schools, and receives the instruction they need for academic success. You always stand up for each child’s education, for public education, and for what is best for our community’s children.

To the families of our students, thank you for your support of your children and their education. You are there to make sure homework is completed and assignments are done. You help your children practice spelling words and math facts. You check backpacks and folders for important notices. You attend after school concerts, activities, and parent-teacher conferences. You are there to make sure your children come to school every day ready to learn.

To our volunteers, thank you for the time you give to our schools and our students. Without fail, every time I visit one of our schools, I see volunteers assisting our staff and working with students. It would be impossible to meet the many learning needs of our students without the help of volunteers. Your generous gift of time makes a significant contribution to the education of our community’s children.

To our Board of Education, thank you for all you do to provide guidance and policies that help our students receive the best possible education. Your thoughtful comments help bring a new perspective to our educational system. You are an important link to our community members and our staff.

Lastly to our students, thank you for the work hard you do every day in our classrooms. You represent our district and our community on the playing field and in academic endeavors. You make all of us proud to say we are from Huber Heights.

I hope every member of our school team has a safe and restful summer. The 2016 – 2017 school year will be here before you know it and there are many challenges ahead of us. I truly appreciate all you have done for our schools and our students this school year. As always, if you have questions about our schools, please contact me at the Administrative Offices (237-6300) or through e-mail at
