From the A.D.’s desk: attitude of gratitude

Jay Minton - Wayne HS Athletics Director

As we look back on our fall season, there are so many great times and special moments, but let’s not forget that it is the people that make those moments. There are so many great people associated with our programs to thank. We will only be able to mention a few.

Many of the people that need to hear how special they are don’t even expect it. Take for instance, Selena Crace and her husband gave monies for so many pregame meals this fall. She has a great heart for kids!

There are others that are retired and still come in to help tutor our young people. Two of who really come to mind, Mary Ann Moore and Ann Ganson. They both give so much of their own personal time to help with ACT Prep and subjects that are tough to understand.

Jesse Livesay continues to go far above the call of being a teacher. Like so many of our staff, she really is concerned about the welfare of our student athletes. She helped lead the way to set up all of the pregame meals for the players. What a true blessing she is for our program.

I am not sure what we would do if my daughter, Tracey Cline, was not involved as a volunteer with our program. The website is something very special to her and many of our parents, players and fans get to enjoy the articles and pictures on the site.

We could go on and on with gratitude to so many. I can truly say that this community is very special and sometime soon we will break the threshold of being able to be called a true Division 1 state football champion. We will continue the chase and along the way continue to be very blessed with special people that care like crazy for young people and their well-being. God Bless Warrior Nation and have a great Warrior Week!
