HUBER HEIGHTS — The following is information from the Huber Heights City Schools:

Financial Aid Audit

Wayne High School will host a Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, October 4 at 6 p.m. in the ITC. Financial Aid representatives and WHS counselors will be on hand to provide information regarding financial aid and the FAFSA, as well as assist parents and students in filling out the FAFSA. If you plan on filling out the FAFSA that night, please bring the necessary documentation with you. You must create a FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA. Please create your FSA ID roughly three days prior to ensure access to the FAFSA. Students and parents MUST create their own individual FSA ID. Please contact the Guidance Department if you have any questions or concerns.

Construction Career Expo

Any SENIOR student who is interested in attending the 12th Annual Construction Career Expo

on October 3, 2017, please see Mrs. Gore in B113 for more information.

  • Speak with representatives of apprenticeship training programs affiliated with the Miami Valley Building Trades to learn of future career opportunities in the construction industry;
  • Hear how apprenticeship programs provide career pathways for young men and women transitioning into the workforce, with in class and on the job training;
  • Learn of in class instruction which is provided at NO COST to the apprentice who often earns college credits, along with on the job training, where the apprentice receives a competitive wage and benefit package.

PSAT registration extended

Any junior interested in taking the PSAT – the cost of the test is $15 you still have time to sign up – registration has been extended just for you, until October 6. The test will be given on Wednesday, October 11. Additional registration forms are in Mrs. McCullough’s office.

Sinclair Community College visit

Mrs. Mowery, advisor from Sinclair, will be here from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. every Tuesday until November. There is a sign- up sheet in the Career Center for you to sign up to see her when she’s here. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Gore in B113.
