HUBER HEIGHTS — The hoopla known as the Bicentennial celebration was winding down, our Cincinnati Reds were gearing up to win the World Series, and the Wayne High School class of 1977 headed into their senior year to popular music by KC and the Sunshine Band, Wild Cherry , and Elton John and Kiki Dee.
All The President’s Men, Carrie, and The Outlaw Josie Wales were popular movies, all eclipsed by Star Wars. As seniors, the coveted privilege of going off campus for lunch had many making quick trips to McDonald’s or Taco Bell. Happy Days, M*A*S*H, Three’s Company, All in the Family, Welcome Back Kotter, and The Love Boat were shows we tuned into regularly.
The class of 1977 will be celebrating their 40th anniversary reunion the weekend of July 7 and plans are to start the weekend off at The Roadhouse at Rip Rap (formerly McNasty’s or Jack Ass Flats) Friday evening.
Additional plans are in the works, but to make this a reunion to remember and be meaningful to all, we need a few good Warriors to volunteer to help plan, organize, and implement! Interested? Contact Ronda or Joy at email@example.com with suggestions, ideas, contact information and/or your willingness to help. We’re looking forward to a great reunion, sharing memories, reconnecting, as well as developing new relationships. Let’s show these more recent grads that we are “Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior.”
