Wayne’s Kerestes wins county Drug-Free Coalition Poster Contest

DAYTON – Wayne High School student Abigail Kerestes has been announced as the overall winner of the Montgomery County Drug-Free Coalition Poster and Poetry Contest.

Kerestes will receive a $100 cash prize and a college scholarship of her choice (subject to acceptance and enrollment) to Sinclair Community College (9 credit hours), Wright State University ($2,000), or the University of Dayton ($5,000).

In the Poster Category from Division 2 (Grades 9-12), Annette Barr from Miamisburg High School is the first Runner-up and Kamry Wright is the second Runner-up. From Division 1 (Grades 6-8), Mary Wellmeier from Mad River Middle School is the first Runner-up and Camren Troutman is the second Runner-up.

In the Poetry Category from Division 2 (Grades 9 through 12), Chelsey Snellabarger from Brookville High School is the first Runner-up and Jasmine Ravenscraft from Brookville High School is the second Runner-up. From Division 1 (Grades 6 through 8), Drake Damron from Miamisburg Middle School is the first Runner-up and Nicole Bryant from Van Buren Middle School is the second Runner-up.

The runners-up from each division and category will receive a cash prize.

The winners and 114 students throughout Montgomery County who submitted poetry and artwork were recognized at an awards presentation on March 15, 2017.
