Free Community Meal slated
HUBER HEIGHTS — Project One Hope is a community outreach through the combined efforts of several churches in Huber Heights to provide free meals for individuals and families in need. First Christian Church of Huber Heights, located at 6114 Fishburg Road (next to Cottonwood Park), will serve a free Community Meal on Thursday, July 9 between 5-6:30 p.m.Please come join us as our guest for a warm meal in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

One-day Bible school set
HUBER HEIGHTS — Faith Presbyterian Church is offering a one-day Bible school on Wednesday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The “Gone Fishin” theme will be a day for children to enjoy outdoor games, food and water fun.
There will be music, crafts, and lessons. They will learn about real fishing with a real fisherman. There will be two classes. One will be for children three years-old through first grade and the second for those in second through sixth grade .Small children will be fishing in a baby pool and older children will be learning how to cast. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
If a child attrended the regular VBS in June, just call the church and they will be registered already. If not, please call the church or drop by to register your child. The number is 233-0873 and the church is at 5555 Chambersburg Rd. Rev. Maggie Gillespie is the pastor. All children are invited.
Wayne Decade of the 70’s Reunion slated
HUBER HEIGHTS —The Wayne Class of 1975 is hosting a three-day party with the Wayne High School Decade of the 70’s Reunion on July 24-26. The Wayne Alumni Band will be performing Saturday evening at the Decade of the 70’s Reunion. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 24 at the Rip Rap Roadhouse At The Flats at the corner of Fishburg and Rip Rap Road. Saturday, the event kicks off at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Rip Rap Roadhouse At The Flats. There will be two bands each night playing 70’s music and more and one band on Sunday. Vendors sought for Fall Bazaar
The Disciples’ Women Ministries of United Christian Church, located at 8611 Hoke Road in Clayton, is looking for vendors who would like to participate in the annual Fall Bazaar. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Table space is open to any form of hand crafted items, artistry, or product lines.

ENGLEWOOD — The Northmont Class of 1975 will hold a reunion on Oct. 8 at Boston’s Bistro from 8 p.m. to midnight with a 70’s Alumni meet and greet. Cloud Park Clean-Up Day is July 31
HUBER HEIGHTS — The Cloud Park Community Pride Clean-Up Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Lunch will be provided at noon for those who volunteer and event t-shirts will be provided to the first 30 volunteers. The Community Pride Cleanup Supply Trailer will be supplied by The Montgomery County Solid Waste District.

Kiser Heritage Day Festival is July 18
HUBER HEIGHTS — The Kiser High School’s Alumni Annual Heritage Day Festival in the form of a fish fry will be held on July 18 at the Elks Lodge #58, located at 2801 Old Troy Pike beginning at 5 p.m. Cost will be $12 in advance or $15 at the door. There will also be a $500 raffle drawing and all profits will benefit the Kiser High School scholarship plan.
Soda and draft beer will be furnished and other alcoholic beverages may be purchased at the Elks bar. There will be other raffles and games during the afternoon. Honorees this year are bandmembers, cheerleaders, majorettes and Pantherettes.
