Ward 5 Town Hall Meeting

HUBER HEIGHTS — You are invited to meet your new Council representative Nancy Byrge and share any issues that you may have or provide suggestions for improvements within our ward or city. The Town Hall will be held Thursday, April 21 from 7-9 p.m. at Fire Station 22, 7008 Brandt Pike. Please enter the driveway by the flagpole and follow the signs to park and enter at the rear of the building.

Be a princess for a day

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Wayne High School Interact Club is inviting all girls ages 4-11 to be a Princess for a Day! For just $10, the princesses will be able to have their hair, makeup, and nails done. After they are all dolled up, they will be escorted by a prince down a red carpet and have their picture taken to remember their special day! The event will be held Saturday, April 23 from 2-4 p.m. in the Wayne High School cafeteria. The cost is $10 with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospita.

Free document shredding event

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights office of AAA is hosting a free document shred-it event on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to both members of AAA and non-members. The event will be held at the AAA office at 8381 Old Troy Pike, Huber Heights.

Huber Heights City Council to meet

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights City Council will hold a regular meeting on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the City Hall, 6131 Taylorsville Road at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Huber Heights Parks and Rec Board to meet

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights Parks and Recreation Board has scheduled a regular meeting for Thursday, April 21, 2016 at or about 6:30 p.m. in the Council chambers at City Hall, 6131 Taylorsville Road. The meeting is open to the public.

Butler class of 1966 to hold reunion

Northmont Class of 1966 plans reunion

CLAYTON — The Planning Committee of the Northmont Class of 1966 is busy planning for their 50th class reunion the weekend of August 19, 2016. There are a number of missing classmates still needing to be reached. Student Aviation Art Exhibit

April 2-May 1

More than 130 pieces of art created by local students from schools across the Miami Valley will be on display at the National Museum of the U.S Air Force during the 33rd Annual Student Aviation Art Competition and Exhibition. Kite Tales

April 23

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Welcome spring with kite stories, kite building and kite flying during the “Kite Tales” event from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 23 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Visitors can observe the incredible sport of indoor kite flying by watching members of local kite clubs fly their kites indoors with no wind! Other demonstration stations throughout the day will teach visitors about the properties of air and flying. Visit for more information.

Church to sponsor mobile food pantry

HUBER HEIGHTS — Do you know someone that struggles to get food for their family? With God’s Grace “Mobile Food Pantry” we will be passing out 125 bags on April 16, 2016 at Onelove Church on 4585 Chambersburg Rd. Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. If you would like to help we need 30 Volunteers for each event. Please sign up onVolunteerSpot: Please be at the location by 12:00pm. We are always in need of donations items. Donated items can be dropped off at each hand out.

Englewood Art Festival seeking artists, parade participants

ENGLEWOOD — Applications from artists and parade participants for the 43rd annual Englewood Art Festival, Saturday August 13, and Sunday August 14, 2016 are now being accepted by the Englewood Festival and Arts Commission.

The parade is a prelude to all of the festival events and will take place on Union Boulevard at 9 a.m. Saturday August 13.

Artists are asked to submit photos of their handmade original work for review by the Festival Exhibitors Committee. Applications are due June 1 and can be found on the Englewood city website at or by calling the Earl Heck Community Center at 937-836-5929.

Summer Aerospace Camp registration now open

Registration for four affordable and exciting summer aerospace camps is now open at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Campers who have completed grades 4-8 will be able to learn about a variety of topics through hands-on activities that incorporate history, science and math concepts, as well as team-building skills. Kiser High School Almuni Meetings

HUBER HEIGHTS — Kiser High School alumni meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December) at the American Legion Post 200 which is at 5046 Nebraska Avenue, Huber Heights. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. Graduates, attendees, and friends of Kiser High School ae welcome to attend. Please park at the rear of the building and use rear entrance.
