Celebrate Reds Opening Day
HUBER HEIGHTS — The residents of Lane Park Senior Living Community invite you to celebrate the Cincinnati Reds opening day on Monday, April 4 from 3-5 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, chips, cookies, and beverages. There will also be a drawing for Reds tickets. Lane Park is located at 6200 Bellefontaine Road.
Be a princess for a day
HUBER HEIGHTS — The Wayne High School Interact Club is inviting all girls ages 4-11 to be a Princess for a Day! For just $10, the princesses will be able to have their hair, makeup, and nails done. After they are all dolled up, they will be escorted by a prince down a red carpet and have their picture taken to remember their special day! The event will be held Saturday, April 2 from 2-4 p.m. in the Wayne High School cafeteria. The cost is $10 with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospita.
Sulphur Grove Grief Ministry to meet
HUBER HEIGHTS — The Grief Ministry at Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church serves the purpose of standing alongside to support those who have encountered an indirect or significant loss in their lives. This ministry focuses on caring, loving, and encouraging each person through their grief journey. We have group meetings on the first and third Thursday of the month. All meetings are held at Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church 7505 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424.
Our next group meetings will be focusing on dealing with anger, guilt, and depression during the grieving process. Home School Co-Op to present Little Mermaid
VANDALIA — School on the Rock Home School Co-op will be presenting Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr. April 14, 15, and 16 at The Hangar, 615 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia Ohio 45377 under the direction of Amy Fraley. The performances on Thursday, the 14 and Friday, the 15 will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s performance is a matinee beginning at 2 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 presale for the Thursday/Friday shows, $10 at the door and $6.00 presale for the Saturday show, $8.00 at the door. Free document shredding event
HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights office of AAA is hosting a free document shred-it event on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to both members of AAA and non-members. The event will be held at the AAA office at 8381 Old Troy Pike, Huber Heights.
Community Art Show slated
HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights Arts & Beautification Commission will present the Creative Impressions Community Art Show on Sunday, April 10 from 1-3 p.m. at the Huber Heights Senior Center located at 6428 Chambersburg Road. The show is open to all artists in and around Huber Heights. There is no fee, and all art media is welcome. Artists are asked to register by April 1. Home School Day
Home school students can explore the world’s largest aviation museum and learn about aviation history and STEM topics during Spring Home School Day on April 4 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Throughout the day, home school children, ages 3-18, can participate in a number of free educational activities, many focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) themes. There is no advance registration; however, there is limited seating capacity for some programs. Museum to ‘come alive’ to celebrate fourth building

Church to sponsor mobile food pantry

With God’s Grace “Mobile Food Pantry” we will be passing out 125 bags on April 16, 2016 at Onelove Church on 4585 Chambersburg Rd. Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. Englewood Art Festival seeking artists, parade participants
ENGLEWOOD — Applications from artists and parade participants for the 43rd annual Englewood Art Festival, Saturday August 13, and Sunday August 14, 2016 are now being accepted by the Englewood Festival and Arts Commission.
The parade is a prelude to all of the festival events and will take place on Union Boulevard at 9 a.m. Saturday August 13.
Artists are asked to submit photos of their handmade original work for review by the Festival Exhibitors Committee. Applications are due June 1 and can be found on the Englewood city website at www.englewood.oh.us or by calling the Earl Heck Community Center at 937-836-5929.
Summer Aerospace Camp registration now open
Registration for four affordable and exciting summer aerospace camps is now open at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Campers who have completed grades 4-8 will be able to learn about a variety of topics through hands-on activities that incorporate history, science and math concepts, as well as team-building skills.
