Beggar’s Night is Oct. 31

HUBER HEIGHTS —Huber Heights has announced the date and time for that annual Halloween tradition – Beggar’s Night, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Parents are urged to use caution and common-sense safety measures and motorists are asked to slow down and watch for trick-or-treaters.

Halloween Trunk or Treat set at Faith Church

HUBER HEIGHTS —Faith Presbyterian Church will be hosting a Halloween Trunk or Treat party on Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church parking lot. There will be games, prizes and candy. Children in pre-school to sixth grade are invited to participate. There will be a UNICEF collection.

Faith congregation will be providing the treats for the party .There will be no traffic in the parking lot, only stationary cars. It will be held rain or shine The church is located at 5555 Chambersburg Road. The Pastor is Rev. Maggie Gillespie and the phone is 233-0873.

Halloween candy buy back set

Kondas Dental Group will hosts its Fourth Annual Halloween Candy Buy Back event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2-4 and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5. Candy will be sent to the troops. Bring unopened candy and receive $1 for every pound of candy you trade up to 10 pounds. Come in costume as the top three costumes of the week will be selected for prizes. Visitors can also right letters of support to the troops at the letter station. For information, call 236-2800.

Pink engine to be at American Legion

HUBER HEIGHTS — An event will be held in conjunction with the Huber Heights Firefighters Local 2926 to help them raise funds for breast cancer awareness as the pink engine will be at American Legion Post 200, 5046 Nebraska Ave., Huber Heights this Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. The engine has a Pink NASCAR theme and will be on display in front of the post.

The purpose is to help raising money for the Pink Ribbon Girls, a local non-profit organization that utilizes the dollars locally. The American Legion Post 200 also wants the community of Huber Heights to know that the post contributes to the community.

Zumba offered

HUBER HEIGHTS — St. Matthew, located at 5566 Chambersburg Road, is promoting health and wellness and is offering one free Zumba class for first time students. Harvest Breakfast and Bazaar slated

HUBER HEIGHTS — A free Harvest Breakfast will be served at Bath Presbyterian Church, 4624 Bath Road, Huber Heights, on Saturday, Nov. 7. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to noon. The Women’s Gathering will have a bazaar, bake sale, and flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy food and fellowship and do some early Christmas shopping.

Faith Women promote Project Linus

HUBER HEIGHTS — A group of women at Faith Presbyterian Church meet every Wednesday morning to work on Project Linus. This is an organization that provides handmade quilts and blankets to children in distress, whether due to illness, a trauma of some sort, or a natural disaster. The blankets are distributed through hospitals and other agencies by nurses, social workers, and others. Over four million blankets have been distributed through this wonderful mission.

Since this group began under the leadership of Cindi Adams, in 2014, they have donated 50 quilts and blankets. Everyone is welcome regardless of sewing skills.. The meeting at Faith Church is every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

HHAF Craft Fair scheduled

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights Athletic Foundation announces its craft fair will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Nov. 10-12. Doors will be open for vendors to promote and sell thier products from noon to 8 p.m. each of those days.

There is a booth rental charge per booth. All crafters and vendors, independent contractors and small business owners are invited to participate.

Normandy UMW Holiday Bazaar set

CENTERVILLE — The Normandy United Methodist Women Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Normandy Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Rd. in Centerville. A soup and sandwich lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit world, national and local mission projects.

Wings & Things Guest Lecture

FAIRBORN — Six space pioneers will share their experiences during a free presentation titled “The Dorian Files Revealed: The Manned Orbiting Laboratory Crew Members’ Secret Mission in Space” at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
