On June 9, around midnight, Huber Heights Police Division officers were sent to the area of 7323 Greydale Drive on the report of a loud explosion sound in the area. Upon arrival, officers found what they believed to be an unexploded bottle bomb in the roadway.
Officers confirmed the bottle was depressurized, however an unidentified liquid remained, said Sgt. M.J. Eagan. He indicated that assistance was sought from Huber Heights Fire Division, the Dayton Bomb Squad and the Regional Haz-Mat team to identify, neutralize and collect the dangerous ordinance. He also stated that the Ohio EPA has since been called to dispose of the material.
