HUBER HEIGHTS — Homecoming is Friday, Sept. 18 and Band, Warriorettes, Majorettes and Flag Corp Alumni are invited once again to march to the field and perform with current Wayne High School students for the 2015 Homecoming football game.
This is an annual event and organizers are looking forward to seeing alumni from as many years, siblings, and generations as possible. There is no charge to participate, but to present a more uniform look all alumni are to wear Alumni Band shirts and jeans or black pants.
Registration (for new and returning participants), music distribution, large instrument loans, and shirt sales begins at 4 p.m. each day at the table in the band room. Shirts can be purchased (with cash or check). While there, musicians can review the music, and all others can review routines with a refresher rehearsal at 4:30 p.m. as friendships are made or renewed.
Following the music/routine rehearsals will be on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.. Following registration, all move to the football field for placement and to rehearse with the current students. Dress for the weather. There will be a required and final rehearsal Friday, Sept. 18 at 4:45 p.m., meet at the field. All times are firm unless other arrangements are made directly with Mrs. Showers.
Music will be available at either rehearsal or can be emailed in advance, if requested from the organizers below. Personal music flip folios and lyres may be used. Special accommodations can be arranged for marchers with limited mobility, such as playing from the sidelines. Please contact Mrs. Kirsten Showers at: (937) 233-6431 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Planners are hoping to arrange an Alumni meal or carry in tailgate party (at a nominal cost for entree), so attendance confirmation will be appreciated. Dinner may also be purchased from the Wayne Music Club Concession stand and sales benefit the Wayne Music Club.
As in the past, larger instruments are available for loan, first come, first served. For anyone owning extras, loans of smaller instruments for the two day period would be appreciated. Please let us know sooner so arrangements might be made.
Alumni interested in finding or organizing other weekend activities should email Brad Nickels, email@example.com to volunteer. Check the Wayne High School Alumni web sites found at www.warrioralumni.org (Class 1977) for specific class information.
