HUBER HEIGHTS — The city of Huber Heights will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the new playground equipment at Twin Creeks Park which is located in southern Huber Heights on Leston Avenue at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
This project came to life after a group of local girls and their moms contacted the Parks and Recreation Board in regard to Twin Creeks Park not having any amenities for children to play. City staff was tasked with finding a way to make it possible for an update to be made to the park. The Montgomery County Solid Waste District sponsors a grant to promote recycling each year, titled the Montgomery County Solid Waste Incentive Grant. The city submitted a grant application and the proposal was approved and funded to fulfill this wish. The grant pays 70 percent of the cost with a 30 percent match from the city.
