Huber Heights Police arrest murder suspect


HUBER HEIGHTS — Huber Heights Police have arrested a teen on a prelimnary charge of murder according to the Montgomery County Jail’s online records.

Levi Dalton Lambert, 19, is was arrested just after 2 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Powell Road and Jansin Place. He is currently incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail with a charge listed as murder although Lambert has not been formally charged.

It is unclear if Lambert’s arrest is connected to the fatal shooting that occurred in Huber Heights on Sunday. In that shooting, Evan Lewis, 19 was killed near Bellefontaine Road and Hilgeford Drive. That location is about a block away from where Lambert was arrested.

Huber Heights Police did confirm in a press release on Sunday that a suspect was in custody.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on Sunday. When medic crews arrived, they found Evans critically wounded. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and later died from his injuries.

Witnesses gave police a description of the suspect and took custody of him as he was attempting to flee the area.

Police said that the incident took place over a large area and there were multiple scenes to collect evidence from. No further information has been released.
