Smith is a dynamic and passionate musician who started her musical journey in church at the early age of five. She was active in the campus choir throughout high school and college where she gained knowledge of sight reading and proper breathing techniques in singing. Through her music she is able to express her love for Christ and her personal stories of overcoming her own trials. She has shared the stage in ministry with Sanctus Real, Dorinda Clark-Cole and more.
Her new album “You” is a compilation of refreshing and moving contemporary Christian songs with a sound that will leave a lasting impression to listeners.. Inspired by The Clark Sisters and Whitney Houston, her music is filled with passion as she sings from the heart. Songs featured in the album include “More than Enough,” “My Turn” and “You.
Smith is one of 10 area Christian music artists and bands that begin performing at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23 when Christian music superstar Francesca Battistelli headlines Kettering Health Network’s GospelFest at The Fraze. Battistelli takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
The local bands were selected by a panel of judges during auditions in May. The seven judges represented Kettering Health Network, the city of Kettering, the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church, 93.7 WFCJ-FM, and Faith and Friends Radio. The event is free and open to the public. Food is available for purchase at the venue.
