HUBER HEIGHTS — After an absence of several years in Huber Heights, National Night Out was celebrated as three block parties on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
For those who live in the southern portion of the city, National Night Out was held at Wright Brothers Elementary, located at 5758 Harshmanville Rd. For those of who live in the central part of the city, the location was at Monticello Elementary, located at 6523 Alter Rd. For those who live in the northern part of the city, National Night Out was at Charles Huber Elementary, located at 8895 Emeraldgate Dr.
A caravan of vehicles from the Police Division, the Fire Division and the Public Works Division traveled to each location to interact with the participants for 45 minutes. Children were able to play on the trucks and look at the equipment.
“Our goal is to promote community interaction and to promote our emergency services personnel that serve the members of the community and to spend time with them and meet with them in their neighborhoods,” Public Affairs Officer Ed Savard told the Courier prior to the event. “In the past, National Night Out was at one central location.”
