HUBER HEIGHTS — Police are searching for leads after human remains were discovered Tuesday in a wooded area off of Wildcat Road north Kellenberger Road.
A person walking in the area discovered the body at approximately 1 p.m.
Following an autopsy Wednesday at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office the body was identified as 35-year-old Brian Wallace Moore, a registered sex offender. The cause of death has yet to be determined. Wallace’s next of kin have been notified.
It is unknown how long Moore had been dead or how long his body had been in the wooded area before being discovered.
Moore was sentenced to prison in June 2002 on a corruption of a minor charge in Huron County, according to Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections officials. He has been in and out of prison since then for failure to register as a sex offender in Montgomery County in 2005 and in April 2009 returned to prison for failure to notify officials of a change of address in Richland County. He was recently released on parole on August 31.
On Tuesday, September 13 at approximately 1:08 p.m., officers responded to the area of Wildcat Road on a report of a deceased person. Officers and investigators arrived on scene and located the body off the roadway. A coroner’s investigator also responded to the scene.
Initially investigators were unable to determine the race or the sex due to the body possibly being wrapped or covered in an unknown material which made it difficult to determine the race, sex and other identifiers.
Police have ruled Moore’s death as suspicious but have yet to release any further information.
