HUBER HEIGHTS — The Wayne High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation will hold the 2015 Dinner and Induction Ceremony on Saturday, July 25 at Wayne High School. The reception is at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:45 p.m.

The Featured Speaker is Arnie Jones, a member of the Wayne High School Class of 1971, a Hall of Fame Charter Member, and football standout under Coach Woody Hayes at The Ohio State University.

An inductee from the Class of ‘64 is Marcia Lutz, the daughter of Bob and Eileen Heidkamp. She was a three-year varsity letter winner in field hockey, was captain of the team as a senior and was MVP. She was also a three year varsity letter winner in basketball and was captain as a junior and senior. She was also a two-year varsity letter winner in volleyball. In tennis, she was undefeated in high school and earned MVP honors. She also played tennis at Miami University and won the Ohio State Collegiate girls doubles championship.

From the class of ‘75 is Dale Eby, a four-year letter winner in gymnastics. He was a member of the state championship team in 1973 and 1975 and the state runner-up squad in 1974.

He won the state championship in floor exercises in 1974. He took third in trampoline and fourth in the all-around in the state that year.

In 1975, he was the male gymnast of the year. He took second place in the state in the floor exercises, third in rings and vault, fourth in parallel bars and sixth in the all-around. He competed in collegiate gymnastics at Oklahoma University.

Dawn Preyor represents the class of ‘77. She placed ninth in the state in the long jump in 1976 and fourth in 1977. She was also the volleyball manager and a boys basketball cheerleader.

Ann-Marie Niese, class of ‘88, took third place in the state in cross county in 1987 and fifth in the state in the two mile run in 1987.

Kellie Mitchell, class of ‘89, was a four year varsity soccer player, three years in track and two years in basketball and one year in cross country. She was a first team all-state soccer selection in 1986-87 and 1988-89. She was a National Soccer Coaches Association All Central Regional team member in 1988. She was the Rae Burick Women in Sports Award Runner-up in 1989.

Other inductees are Ronnie Redd 1990-football; Kevin Thieke 1993-cross country, track; Danny Cwiklik 1995-soccer; Evan Shrewsbury 1999-soccer, Ty Morgan 1999-wrestling; Will Allen 2000-football; Alex Lammers 2000-wrestling, Bobby Long 2000-track; Jeremy Richardson 2000-track; Jason Hodges 2002-track; and the 4×100 relay team from 2000 composed of John Hollins, Bobby Long, Jeremy Richardson and Earnest Tucker.

Also to be inducted are Diane Ireland-Coach (cheerleading), Lt. Col Allen Edwards-community member and Sue Fisher- community member.

The dinner menu is Chicken Cordon Bleu, Italian stuffed shells, green beans almondine, twice baked potatoes, salad, rolls, and dessert.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by Friday, July 17 at the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation Center, 5367 Fishburg Rd. (937-233-8618) and at Wayne High School, 5400 Chambersburg Rd. (937-233-6431).
