HUBER HEIGHTS — Kali Brickman, an eighth grade student-athlete carrying a 4.0 GPA at Weisenborn Middle School in Huber Heights, will play on America’s Team-Ohio fastpitch softball team which will be traveling to London, England and competing in an eight-day tour in the summer of 2016, coached by Jackie Cornelius-Bedel, varsity softball coach at Cincinnati Oak Hills High School.

America’s team provides student-athletes with high integrity and strong character opportunities to compete in international programs as an ambassador for their school, community and country.

She is the daughter of Chris Brickman, Wayne JV Softball coach and Anita Brickman, a 1990 Wayne graduate and softball alumni. Kali currently plays for the 14u HH Roadwarriors travel softball club, coached by Chris Brickman. She started playing softball when she was five-years-old with the Huber Heights local rec organization HHGSA

At age eight, Kali decided she wanted to be a fastpitch softball pitcher and was inspired by watching her older cousin (her idol) Nicol Chesley, a fastpitch softball pitcher who also started out with the HHGSA rec program and went on to play travel softball with the HH Roadwarriors. Chesley was a four-year varsity softball starting pitcher at Wayne High School (class of 2011) and continued her softball pitching career at University of the Cumberland’s in Williamsburg, Kent. as their starting pitcher where she graduated in 2015.

To participate in the event and maintain compliance with NCAA and NAIA eligibility requirements, Kali must raise her portion of the travel expenses incurred. If you would like to make a donation it would be greatly valued and appreciated. Please make check or money order payments to: ACIS (subject line Kali Brickman ID#12370), Mail donations to: Kali Brickman, 5414 Kitridge Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424.
