HUBER HEIGHTS — The Wayne boys soccer team showed improvement in a scoreless deadlock with Fairborn on Tuesday.
Wayne out shot the visitors 8-3 and goalie Nate Strong had four saves.
“We created some opportunities to score and didn’t do it,” said Coach Dennis Snider. “…You’ve got to take advantage of those opportunities.”
Snider indicated that his team demonstrated a lot of improvement compared to the season opener when they fell 3-0 to Xenia.
“Our effort was much better,” he said. “Our run of play was good, our defense played very well. I think overall, we came a long way from the first game to this game.”
Snider said there was good effort by some athletes who are playing very well.
“It’s just a matter of coming together and finishing some of our opportunities that we have,” he concluded. “We’ll be okay in the next few games.”
Saturday, 9-1-1 Wayne hosts Miamisburg at 7:15 p.m.
