Boys take third at Schwab Invitational, girls are seventh

BEAVERCREEK —The Wayne boys golf team took third place at the Diana Schwab Invitational on Tuesday at the Beavercreek Golf Club with a 168 behind champion Beavercreek (157) and runner-up Fairmont (166).

Bryce Haney paced Wayne with a 39, a score shared with five other golfers. Alex Flick of Beavercreek was medalist at 36 whild Middletown’s Nathan Campbell shot a 37.

James Harness shot a 41 while AJ Henry shot a 42 and Zach Johnson a 46 to account for the team scoring. Riley Brown shot a 50. Seth Marks also competed for Wayne.

The Wayne girls golf team placed seventh out of eight teams at the Diana Schwab Invitational on Tuesday at the Beavercreek Golf Club. Wayne shot a 230 to place ahead of Butler who shot a 230. CJ took top honors with a 167 while Lebanon was runner-up (182) and Northmont was third (194).

Wayne’s Heidi Weeks tied for 27th with a 56 while Jennifer Hammond took 30th with a 57. Bailey Massey was 31sst with a 58 while Lauren Daily tied for 34th with a 59 to account for the team score. Also competing were Sydney Steckel and Kelsey Fitzpatrick.
