HHCS sets up Financial Advisory Committee

In 2012, the Huber Heights City School District (HHCS) established the HHCS Strategic Planning Committee. The goal of this committee was to identify critical areas within the school district that needed improvement in order to ensure student success. One of the initiatives launched by the District’s Strategic Plan was securing financial stability. The Board of Education believes that establishing a “Financial Advisory Committee” consisting of community members, Board of Education members, and district administrative staff will assist in this initiative. The goal and tasks of the “Financial Advisory Committee” include reviewing annual projections, reviewing financial documents related to the District’s fiscal health, sharing of best practices to achieve financial goals, and improvement of community outreach as it relates to financial information.

The “Financial Advisory Committee” has been set up and consists of six community members, one Board of Education representative and two district administrative representatives. Each community member has agreed to commit two years of service to this committee. Committee members include:

Helmick, CPA and current Treasurer/CFO of the Huber Heights City School District; Katie Arnett, CPA and Assistant Treasurer of the Huber Heights City School District; Mark Combs, Global Director, Inteva Products and Current Huber Heights City School District Board Member, Huber Heights City School District Graduate, and Huber Heights City School District Parent; Anita S. Brock, Inside Sales, Marsh Building Products, Former Board Member, Huber Heights City School District, and Huber Heights City School District Parent; Sheri Combs, Account Relationship Manager, McGohan Brabender, President, Every Warrior Plays, and Huber Heights City School District Parent; Ronnie Redd, Owner, Ronnie Redd Insurance, Trustee, Huber Heights Community Foundation, Huber Heights City School District Resident, Huber Heights City School District Graduate, and Huber Heights City School District Parent; Pat Stephens (retired), President, Wayne Township-Huber Heights Historical Society, President, Huber Heights Community Foundation, Former Director, Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce, Huber Heights City School District Graduate, and Huber Heights City School District Parent/Grandparent; Rick Studebaker, CSA, Lennox Parts Plus, President, Wright Brothers Elementary PTO, and Huber Heights City School District Parent; and Cheryl Thomas, Branch Manager, Key Bank Huber Heights, Huber Heights City School District Graduate, and Huber Heights City School District Parent.
