From the A.D.’s desk: Thanksgiving

Jay Minton - Wayne HS Athletics Director

What a great time of the year this is. Thanksgiving should always bring out the best in all of us. It really makes us stop and take the time to reflect on what we are really most thankful for.

I believe in breaking down the word and looking at both Thanks and Giving! There are so many things we need to say Thanks for. We constantly reinforce to our student-athletes to be most thankful to their parents. So many of our young people don’t have both parents or maybe some don’t even have parents. However, everyone needs to be thankful to someone in their life that guided them or made a positive impact on their life.

The other part is to Give. Yes, give back as someone gave to you. Make sure to always remember where you came from and give to those that can benefit from your experiences.

We wish everyone out there the safest and most enjoyable Thanksgiving ever! We hope you will take time to give thanks for your blessings. We also hope that no one is alone during this holiday and if there is someone alone, our wish is a family may invite them in to share in some special blessings. Now that is what Thanksgiving is all about.

We hope to see all Warrior Fans at Mason on Saturday night at 7 p.m. for the state semi-final football game between Wayne and Colerain. Come out to support our young people as they try to take our community back to Columbus for the State Football Championship. Info is on www.waynewarriorathletics.com. GO WAYNE!
