DAYTON — Did you know the Humane Society of Greater works with several local veterinary offices through the Miami Valley Veterinary Medical Association (MVVMA) voucher program to offer low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to low-income families and individuals all year long?

In honor of February 23 being World Spay Day, these vet clinics are giving back to the community and working with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton to help spay/neuter more pets within the Dayton region. For one day only, five area veterinary offices will lift any financial restriction requirements for our regular spay/neuter voucher program, which opens these services up to anyone in the community.

To register for these discounted rates, you must be part of the voucher program. Simply pre-pay for your voucher by stopping into the Humane Society of Greater Dayton on Tuesday, February 23 from 1 to 6 p.m. Vouchers for this promotion can only be purchased on Tuesday, February 23. The restrictions to this program, normally helping low-income families, will be lifted for just this one day.

Once you purchase your voucher, set up your appointment with one of five local vet clinics including: Animal Medical Center of Miamisburg, North Main-Clayton Animal Hospital, Shiloh Animal Hospital, Pets in Stitches and Paws Inn Animal Hospital.

“Spaying and neutering your pet is such a crucial part in fighting overpopulation within our community, but it can be an expensive procedure for animal owners,” said Brian Weltge, president and CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. “We are so thankful to be working with some amazingly generous veterinary offices who are devoted in serving our community and impacting the lives of pets. These vets are showing the true meaning of philanthropy and are leading by example by providing a day for anyone to take advantage of these extremely discounted rates.”
