Christy Ramsey Barker’s first children’s book is “Not On My Watch: A Dog’s Tale.”


HUBER HEIGHTS — Local teacher and Wayne alumni Christy Ramsey Barker’s first children’s book was published July 31. “Not On My Watch: A Dog’s Tale” written by the local author and Huber Heights City Schools teacher, reveals from a dog’s point of view the meaning of family. As the ranch dog is introduced to new chicks, she thinks back to how she became family, the new baby boy was brought home from the hospital, and finally she has to decide if these feathery fluff balls are also family. In the end, she decides, nothing will harm them,”Not On My Watch.”

The 32-page children’s story is authored and illustrated by Barker and is available through Authorhouse or Amazon as an ebook or softcover. Intended for ages four to eight, the story meets common core standards pk-1 and lexile through grade six.
