Operation: Tools for School kicking off today for veterans and families

Staff report

HUBER HEIGHTS– This August, Military Veterans Resource Center will run Operation: Tools for School to help military families with their children’s back-to-school costs. Veterans, active duty service members, and spouses are eligible for this assistance when proof of service is presented at Military Veterans Resource Center, located at 5420 Brandt Pike in Huber Heights.

“For veterans who are in transition or between jobs, purchasing something simple like school supplies can be a burden. We wanted to do something to help veterans and their children have a positive start to the school year,” said MVRC Executive Director Len Proper.

Operation: Tools for School will run from Aug. 3 until Aug. 17. Donations are gladly accepted. For more information, contact Veterans Services Specialist Kelley Koons at 937-329-9559.

Military Veterans Resource Center’s mission is to help veterans who served honorably access the resources they need to become self-reliant in managing their career and life decisions. MVRC is based in Columbus and operates five centers throughout Ohio. For additional information, please visit www.milvetsrc.org.
