Suspect drives to Dayton Fire Station 12 with apparent gunshot injury

HUBER HEIGHTS —Two men were injured in a shooting incident at 7935 Blackshear Drive around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Huber Police responded to 7935 Blackshear Drive on a shots fired incident. Dispatch advised officers that the complainant stated that a black male subject had been shot and was laying in the front yard of the Blackshear residence, according to Sgt. Charles Taylor.

Officers and medics arrived on scene and immediately made contact with the subject with an apparent gunshot wound. The subject received immediate treatment for the apparent gunshot wound and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Huber Heights medics, according to Taylor.

Taylor indicated that prior to the arrival of officers to the scene, the suspect fled the residence. He said that the suspect later arrived at Dayton Fire Station 12 with what was described as a gunshot injury.

Taylor said that detectives were requested and responded to the residence and hospital to conduct interviews with the individuals at the hospital. A witness was interviewed at the police division and was released.

As of 10 p.m. Sunday night, Taylor indicated that the condition of both individuals was unknown at that time. He said the investigation will continue as detectives continue to complete interviews and officers continue to process the crime scene and collect evidence from the incident.
