Escaped prisoner captured by Huber Heights Police officers

HUBER HEIGHTS – Huber Heights Police have captured a prisoner who escaped custody from officers at the Montgomery County Municipal Court Eastern Division on Taylorsville Road.

According to a press release, a prisoner who was transported to the court by Riverside Police “avoided officers assigned to the transportation detail” and was able to get into the driver’s seat of the transport vehicle.

The prisoner, who has not been identified, drove the vehicle through a sally port door and a gate that secures the back parking lot at the police division.

The prisoner then drove the vehicle through Sherman Park and into a neighborhood. Officers searched and located the vehicle crashed into a tree line about a half mile from police headquarters.

The prisoner, who fled on foot, was apprehended by Huber Heights Police officers. He remains in custody and will face additional unspecified charges.
