Miami Valley Young Marines recruit for Boot Camp

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Miami Valley Young Marines beginS new recruit orientation on Wednesdays, July 22 and July 29 at Saint Peter Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road in Huber Heights. The unit serves the entire Miami Valleynd enrolls boys and girls from age eight to high school graduates.

All Miami Valley recruit candidates and parents should come to receive a complete information briefing on either Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. The start date for the actual boot camp is Aug 12.

The Young Marine organization is the Department of Defense Drug Demand Reduction program for youth and the United States Marine Corps official youth program. The primary goal is to improve character and instill in each Young Marine the desire to become a life-long, productive and contributing citizen in the community.

Come and observe young people in military dress, assembled in ramrod straight formation, as they present the colors of the United States of America and demonstrate their continuing commitment to the most positive of American values, leadership, discipline and teamwork.

Young Marine recruits must demonstrate an enthusiasm for a positive life-style, before they are accepted for membership. Young Marine achievement depends upon a cooperative effort between the staff, the Young Marines and their parents.
