Former Huber Heights teacher indicted

DAYTON — A former Huber Heights art teacher has been indicted by the Montgomery County Grand Jury.

Kelly N. Stone was indicted on felony charges of knowingly permitting drug abuse and a misdemeanor drug possession charge.

Stone taught in the Huber Heights City Schools for two years and was an art teacher at Charles Huber and Wright Brothers Elementary Schools.

Stone, who is also known as Kelly McGill, was arrested at a home on Rose Bower Ave. in Kettering in August during a drug raid by Kettering Police. The raid was the result of numerous complaints from neighbors.

Also arrested in the raid was Donte L. Shackelford, Sr. He was indicted on five felonies including two counts of having weapons under disability, both third degree felonies, and trafficking in drugs, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drugs, all fifth degree felonies.

Both Stone and Shackelford are scheduled to be arraigned in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on October 13.
