HUBER HEIGHTS — The BP Station on Troy Pike has been getting an earful from around 20 customers who reported getting diesel fuel instead of unleaded over the weekend.

George Abbhoudi, the regional manager for Giant Oil, confirmed what he called an “honest mistake” by a transport driver who put diesel fuel into the wrong holding tank.

Customers who were victims of the mistake started talking on the Everything Huber Heights Facebook page on Saturday morning.

Tonia Schuttinger said that she has a brand new car that broke down 10 minutes after filling up at the BP. She said the store told her she was the sixth caller to report “bad gas.”

On Monday, she posted that she had “been in touch with the company that delivered the gas to the BP on old Troy and they are ready to reimburse me for the damages done to my car and the money I used to fill up Saturday. They have been very helpful and very nice so far,” wrote Schuttinger.

Another driver, Donna Paul, reported the same.

“They’re working with us also or should I say our insurance company,” she wrote.
