Preschool Extravaganza slated for Thursday

HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights Early Readiness Coalition along with the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation is sponsoring their second annual Preschool Extravaganza: PREPARING YOUNG LEARNERS FOR SUCCESS on Thursday, April 21 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wayne High School.

The event is targeted to support learning for preschoolers birth to five, and kindergarten registration packets will be available.

It features exciting and fun literacy, math, fine/gross motor and art activities along with parent information (including how to apply for Title 20 assistance for preschool costs), free pizza, cookies and the opportunity to win gift cards and other prizes. Giveaways like free books and Playdoh will go to all children who attend—while supplies last.

Preschoolers enjoy fun, hands-on, educational activities like building with blocks/Legos, playing with play dough, games to help with motor skills, science fun, math fun, and many, many more! Receive a book and materials/prizes to take home while supplies last!

Parents will:

  • Receive handouts and materials to help your child be ready for school in math, reading, and social studies.
  • Receive recipes to make play dough at home.
  • Have an opportunity for a free eye health and vision screening for your child (ages 3 to Pre-K).
  • Enter a drawing to win backpacks, books, school supplies, and other prizes for you and your child.
  • Enter a drawing to win a gift card from Wal-Mart starting at 6:30 p.m.
  • Get help filling out applications for assistance with childcare costs.
  • Receive kindergarten registration information.
  • Enjoy free pizza and cookies served at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.
  • GRAND PRIZE drawing at 7:30 p.m.—you do not have to be present to win!

To park, enter the parking lot on Chambersburg Rd. at the “Event Entrance.” Park behind the Muntz Gym and enter in the doors marked “Wayne High School, Home of the Warriors.”
