Dazzling aerobatics return to Vectren Dayton Air Show

DAYTON – Sean D. Tucker and Melissa Pemberton join a spectacular lineup of some of the nation’s top air show attractions at the 2016 Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger this summer. The 42nd annual event will take off on June 18-19 at the Dayton International Airport.

More than 80 million people have witnessed the dynamic and highly-entertaining aerobatic maneuvers of air show legend, Sean D. Tucker. Spectators at the 2016 Vectren Dayton Air Show will watch in amazement as Sean puts his 400 horsepower Oracle Challenger bi-plane through a rigorous performance, so intense, it requires him to practice three times daily. The 2008 National Aviation Hall of Fame Enshrinee, Sean D. Tucker sets the standard of aerobatic excellence with the passion and perfection he brings to every show. Sean is a crowd favorite that appears regularly at Dayton’s show.

The youngest female ever selected to the United Stated Unlimited Aerobatic team, award-winning aerobatic pilot Melissa Pemberton will bring her high-energy, action-packed performance in her powerful Edge 540 aircraft to Dayton. Her dazzling presentation of tumbles and rolls is sure to thrill spectators. Melissa is not only one of the best female aerobatic pilots but an accomplished skydiver and champion rock climber. She serves as a role model inspiring young people and women, showing them no dream is too big and nothing is impossible. She last appeared in Dayton in 2013.

Sean and Melissa will add to an exciting lineup of world-class aviation attractions at the 2016 edition of theVectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger including the famed U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor, U.S. Navy Leap Frogs and TORA, TORA TORA, a dramatic reenactment of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

The show is also experiencing a resurgence of military attractions both in the air and on the ground adding to the excitement in 2016. Air show officials will announce the array of aircraft that will appear on static display and more attractions that will fly during the feature show by early spring.

“Our spectators will enjoy the very best in military and civilian air show entertainment,” stated Michael Emoff, United States Air and Trade Show Board of Trustees Chairman. “We’ve been able to put together an awesome lineup and fans will be thrilled,” he added.

2016 Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger tickets are now on sale at the show’s website, www.daytonairshow.com. For the first time this year, customers will enjoy new print-at-home or print-tomobile options available for website purchases.

Beginning May 9, 2016, customers can conveniently purchase discount general admission tickets at area Kroger stores. This Kroger exclusive offers $3.00 off adult and children tickets at over 100 Kroger stores in the Dayton-Cincinnati region. Kroger discount tickets are good for either Saturday or Sunday admission.
