DAYTON — The Vectren Dayton Air Show announced on Tuesday that the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor will be joining the lineup for this summer’s air show.

The F-22 Raptor is a stealth tactical fighter built by Lockheed-Martin. It will be flown by Major Daniel “FFits” Dickinson from the 1st Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, VA.

“We are absolutely ecstatic!” stated Michael Emoff, Chairman of the USATS Board of Trustees. “To have the world’s most advanced aircraft at our show is awesome. This will be one show people definitely won’t want to miss.” Emoff added.

The F-22 will perform an aerial demonstration both days of the show and is one of the most sought-after demonstrations on the air show circuit.

The Raptor will join the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and marks the return of military aircraft in both the flybys and static display for the first time since federal sequestration.

The 2016 Vectren Dayton Air Show presented by Kroger is June 18-19 at the Dayton International Airport. 2016 marks the 42nd consecutive year of the show, one of the largest in the nation.

Tickets can be purchased at any Kroger store beginning May 9 or by visiting www.daytonairshow.com.
