HUBER HEIGHTS — The Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed the Panera Bread restaurant into the Huber Heights business community on Friday morning. The restaurant, which has been open since late January, held a ribbon cutting inside its Old Troy Pike location.

“We are very happy to welcome Panera Bread to Huber Heights and wish you much success,” said Melissa McGhee, President of the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce.

The new Panera Bread café location officially opened on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 8104 Old Troy Pike, behind Mattress Firm. It is owned by Dublin, Ohio based Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Florida and Toronto, Canada.

The grand opening included several days of special offers and a two-week fundraising promotion benefiting Every Warrior Plays. For every $5 gift card redeemed at the new location, Panera Bread donated $1 to the cause.

“We are honored to be able to support Every Warrior Plays,” said Sam Covelli, Owner/Operator of Covelli Enterprises. “We believe in community involvement and in how this program supports the youth of Huber Heights City Schools.”

“Every Warrior Plays is honored to have been chosen as the community non-profit to partner for the grand opening. I know everyone in the Huber Heights community is excited to welcome Panera Bread. It is great to see Panera Bread’s dedication and commitment to giving back and supporting our community,” said Sheri Combs, President of Every Warrior Plays.

Every Warrior Plays (EWP) is the official fundraising program for the Huber Heights City School district’s athletic department. EWP’s goal is to raise money to offset the pay to play fees for all sports in the district at both the middle school and high school. This is accomplished primarily thru community based events that also serve as a foundation to building community pride. To stay informed of EWP community events please visit the Every Warrior Plays Facebook page and their website at www.everywarriorplays.com.
