Parmenter graduates from basic military training

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Abigail L. Parmenter graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Parmenter is the daughter of Randal Parmenter of New Carlisle and Susan Parmenter of Dayton. She is also the granddaughter of Karen Parmenter of Vandalia and Carol Eck of Williamsport, Pa., and niece of Melinda Bender of Picture Rocks, Pa.

The airman graduated in 2015 from Northmont High School.
