Three challengers win Council seats

HUBER HEIGHTS — Three challengers were voted into the Huber Heights City Council on Tuesday

In the Council At Large race, challenger Glenn T. Otto defeated incumbent Jan Vargo 4912-4511.

In the Ward One race, it appears that challenger Richard E. Shaw Jr. defeated incumbent Lu Dale 800-775 as results are unofficial.

In the Ward Two race, it appears that incumbent Karen J. Kaleps lost to Janell Smith 993-972. Kaleps got 749 votes in Montgomery County and 223 in Miami County. Smith garnered 691 votes in Montgomery County and 302 votes in Miami County.

In the Ward Six race, incumbent Edward W. Lyons retained his seat, defeating Richard Stan 925-834.

In the Huber Heights City Schools Board of Education race, two candidates ran unopposed. Board members will be G. Michael Miller and Krista R. Tipton with 5194 and 6218 votes, respectively.
