Kiser High School Almuni Meetings

HUBER HEIGHTS — Kiser High School alumni meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December) at the American Legion Post 200 which is at 5046 Nebraska Avenue, Huber Heights. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. Graduates, attendees, and friends of Kiser High School ae welcome to attend. Please park at the rear of the building and use rear entrance.

Brunner Literacy Center Sponsors Third Annual 5K Run/Walk

DAYTON — The Brunner Literacy Center, a welcoming space for adults to reach educational dreams, is sponsoring its third annual 5K Run/Walk and optional 1.7K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. in Englewood Metropark (Main Street and National Road Entrance). The race proceeds benefit the Brunner Literacy Center which is solely funded by donations and grants.

Located at 4825 Salem Ave., and with the help of over 150 caring volunteers, the Brunner Literacy Center offers one-on-one tutoring at no cost to the clients. These adult students may be interested in improving reading and math skills, preparing for the General Equivalency Diploma (GED), practicing English Language skills or preparing for the test of citizenship. Vandalia Toastmasters meets twice monthly

VANDALIA — Would you like to be a better speaker and a more effective leader? Mothers groups meet in Vandalia

VANDALIA — MOPS and MOMS Next meetings offer community and mothering support to mothers of children age birth through six. MOPS and MOMS Next meetings are held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vandalia (122 W. National Rd. in Vandalia next to Rite Aid) on the second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month from 6 – 8:15 p.m. Childcare is provided (please RSVP prior to attending to ensure enough childcare workers are available). Free mammograms for uninsured area women

DAYTON — All women age 40 and over should get a yearly mammogram, but many women put it off for a variety of reasons including the inability to pay, or a lack of insurance or transportation. Southern Slavic Folk Dancing class offered
