Community Garage Sale participants encouraged to donate after sales

Goodwill will have additional donation trailer

Staff report

HUBER HEIGHTS – Residents in the Huber Heights area are encouraged to donate their unsold garage sale items at one of two locations in the community, Oct. 17-18.

Goodwill Stores, a service of Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley, will provide residents with an additional donation trailer near Wal-Mart to accept donations after the garage sales.

A donation trailer will be parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 7680 Brandt Pike, on Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 18, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. An attendant will be at the trailer to assist donors and provide donation receipts.

“We will be open and ready to accept donations at our Huber Heights Goodwill Store at 5058 Brandt Pike,” said store manager Mary Peck. “But we want to give residents another convenient donation option on garage sale weekend. We hope everyone will bring us their unsold items.”

Proceeds from the sale of donated items at Goodwill help support programs and services for people with disabilities and other needs in a 23-county area.

Acceptable donations include gently used clothing, household items, linens, toys, jewelry and accessories, computers and electronic equipment (working and non-working), books, furniture and small household appliances. No TV’s will be accepted.

For more information about donating to Goodwill, visit the website at or call the Huber Heights Goodwill Store at (937) 237-1839.
