Murder suspect turns himself in

HUBER HEIGHTS– Michael Daren Scott, wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Joshua Hamilton, of Springfield, at Kricket’s Tavern, turned himself in to police Friday evening, according to our media partner at WDTN TV 2. A deputy sergeant at the Montgomery County Jail confirmed to WDTN TV2 that Scott, 20, is being held on murder and felonious assault charges.

He was identified as the suspect in the shooting by Huber Heights Police and is expected to appear in court on Monday.

On Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., detectives from the Huber Heights Police Division met with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office to review the evidence in the case. The prosecutor’s office approved the following felony charges: two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of weapons under disability and one count of illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor establishment against Scott.
