FAMILY GENEALOGY:Library offers geneology workshop for grandparents and grandchildren


HUBER HEIGHTS — The Dayton Metro Library is offering two workshops designed to introduce 10 to 18 year old students to family history through their own genealogy. Genealogy for Grandma, Grandpa, and Me is led by Genealogy Librarian Shawna Woodard at the Huber Heights and Miamisburg Branch Libraries.

The Montgomery County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society and the Library will provide grandparents and grandchildren with trees, charts, name books and lists of websites as well as advice on interviewing and researching family history.

The Huber Heights Branch Library program at 6160 Chambersburg Road will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14 while the Miamisburg Branch Library at 35 S. Fifth Street will offer the workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
