HUBER HEIGHTS — Construction continues for a new AAA location featuring automotive, insurance and travel services under one roof on Old Troy Pike, in front of Lowe’s. Site excavation work began at the site in mid-March for the facility which will open in either late summer or early fall.

The AAA location will be the first of its kind in the Miami Valley area, offering car care, insurance and travel services.

‘There are five locations like this in the Cincinnati area,” said Cindy Antrican, AAA Public Affairs Manager, “but this is the first one for us. As you know, we opened the first AAA Tire and Auto and it’s the first AAA Tire and Auto here in the midwest. But this will be the first combined location.”

Antrican said if a customer was planning a fall trip to Gatlinburg to view the changing foliage, they could visit the new location to get their maps and tour books, rent a car or if driving your own car, get a vehicle maintenance inspection or get oil checked and tires rotated.

“One stop and you’re ready to go—that’s what’s exciting about it,” said Antrican. “You can also talk to your insurance agent about your car insurance there.”

Antrican said a careful study was done to determine the location for this site.

“We need to be convenient to where our members want to do business,” said Antrican. “This is a great location as far as I’m concerned, because I live in the area. I frequently shop in the Huber Heights area — I’m in Englewood…and it’s very convenient for me and there’s a lot to offer there.”

This fall, AAA plans to do fall vehicle maintenance inspections as part of the October Car Care Month at the Huber site, according to Antrican. She said these would probably be done by appointment and would be a 36-point inspection to make sure the vehicle is properly maintained and ready for the winter months.

“Every year, we do this for the community and it’s to help drivers,” said Antrican. “You do not have to be a member to use this location….Obviously, if you’re a member, you’re going to get some additional benefits…

Antrican said she is excited about the convenience of this location.

“I think the clients and the members who use this facility are going to really appreciate and enjoy the convenience…,” she said.

According to Antrican, AAA expects to hire between 18 and 22 employees at this location prior to opening. A career fair was held by AAA last Wednesday at the Courtyard Marriott in Dayton which attracted 100 candidates to the hiring event. AAA is still seeking applications to fill positions for the new location as well as the overall roadside rescue team for fleet drivers. Visit aaa.com/careers.

Antrican said that AAA is growing across the nation with more than 55 million members and just celebrated the centennial of emergency road service.
